Video: Crowns Explained
Crowns
When a tooth has been structurally compromised because of heavy loss of tooth structure due to decay, multiple large fillings or cracks, a crown or indirect cuspal coverage restoration may be recommended to help protect the remaining tooth structure and reduce the risk of fractures of the tooth.
There are a number of different options for crowns, these include:
- Ceramic crowns
- Zirconia crowns
- Porcelain fused to metal crowns
- Gold crown
- OVC -One Visit Crown
All our indirect ceramic and metal crowns are handcrafted by local ceramists or digitally designed and milled by local labs in New Zealand. The labs we engage use the highest quality materials and techniques to ensure a long-lasting restoration.
Bridge
Dental bridges are a solution for the replacement of missing teeth. Adjacent teeth are usually prepared and the bridge is fabricated and bonded to adjacent teeth. There are various material choices for fixed bridges, and these are selected based on individual criteria to ensure you get the most suitable restoration for your particular situation.
