Age 0 – Year 9
Primary dental care for this age group is provided through the School Dental Service. For appointments, they can be contacted on 0800 TALK TEETH (0800 825 583) If more complex care is required, you may be provided with a referral letter that enables you to seek care with us. Please have this referral letter handy when contacting us to arrange an appointment.
During weekends, public holidays or after-hours, when the school dental clinics are closed, we are able to provide you child with any required urgent care.
Year 9 – 18th Birthday
From School year 9 onwards, your child is able to enrol directly with us for funded dental care. Your child is eligible for a full dental examination (similar to adult dental examinations) once every 12 months, a hygiene / clean appointment, any required preventative care including fissure sealants and fluoride treatment and all required restorative care. If we determine that your child requires more extensive care, we are able to apply to the ministry for further funding for this.
